Talking with children, enrich their vocabulary

To speak directly with children when they are in the early stages of language learning, helps them to have a better vocabulary and understand the words more quickly.

This is an effect that he does not take the child if the parents decide to watch television before dolls or different programs for children, says a study done at Stanford University, published in the journal Psychological "Science".

Researchers studied 29 children 19-months, all of Latin America, providing them with a fixed recorder to capture all the sounds that were exposed in a day. After five months, all children were examined and those with parents who had talked, also showed great vocabulary and greater speed in the processing of words that were spoken.

"To learn the words, they need to interact," explains Adriana Weisleder, author of the study.
